The inauguration ceremony of The Ibn Khaldun Foundation

On Sunday, May 18th 2008 , The Ibn Khaldun Foundation organized its inauguration ceremony in Plaza Heisei at the Tokyo International Exchange Center, Odaiba.

60 participants has attended this ceremony, among them the Tunisian ambassador his Excellency Mr Noureddine Hached, the former Japanese ambassador in Tunisia and actual president of the Japan-Tunisia friendship association his Excellency Mr Yasuaki Ono, and many other friends of Tunisia from the scientific cultural and business fields.

The program of the ceremony included:

  • Presentations about the Tunisia and its History, the Tunisian-Japanese partnership experience, Tunisia through Japanese eyes and also an introduction to the Ibn Khaldun Foundation’s goals and structure.
  • An excellent solo “Oud” (luth) performance by Mr. Yuji Tsunemi the Japanese musician who learned the Tunisian music from the maestro Ali sriti.
  • An excellent duet performance of Tunisian music by Mr. Fayez Al Ayoubi and Dr. Skander Hannachi which induced a warm atmosphere resulting in Tunisian dance performance by the Japanese and Tunisian Audience.
  • Delicious Typical Tunisian menu including various types of Couscous, Tajine, bril, blankit salad and Tunisian traditional coukies(wedhnin Kadhi) with mint tea, all prepared by the Foundation members: Miss Asmaand Mrs. Sana.
  • And an exposition of Tunisian traditional clothes and souvenirs.

The ceremony ended with a nice group photo but also and mainly with a lot of enthusiasm to start a promising activity to promote the Tunisia – Japan partnership.
